Project Description

The Work consists of the addition of a sixth electrical centrifugal water chiller (1150 nominal tons), erection of a sixth concrete cooling tower cell, associated pumps and controls. In addition, the work included the retrofit of the five existing cooling tower cells with complete replacement of the mechanical and electrical systems. Variable Frequency Drives were provided for the 6 cooling towers and 5 chilled water campus distribution pumps including electrical and process control upgrades. The project finished 4 months ahead of schedule and the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority conducted an awards program naming W. M. Schlosser Co. as the Contractor of the Year.
