Project Description
W.M. Schlosser was awarded this project in January 2015 to provide construction services for upgrading/replacing existing metallic components in the eight sedimentation basins due to accelerated corrosion, along with upgrading components in the rapid mix and flocculation processes.
This Work includes the following items in Sedimentation basins 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B, total Eight (8) Basins.
Cleaning and preparation of existing concrete sedimentation and rapid mix basins. Removal and replacement of cross collector auger, drive chains, shafts, bearings, sprockets, and supports. Removal and replacement of solids discharge piping, valves, and supports. Removal and replacement of parts to solids submersible pumps, mud valves, and sluice gates. Removal and replacement of access ladders, platforms, and supports. Removal and replacement of flight system shafts, sprockets, drive chains, flight chains, and supports. Removal and patching of existing concrete where equipment supports are to be placed. Structural repair of deteriorated expansion joints, spall and cracks in the basins. Operational testing of new and rehabilitated systems and components.
