Project Description
W.M. Schlosser constructed a new railyard and extend a railhead to the existing pier area at the Masonville Marine Terminal. The terminal area is near the south (old) Harbor Tunnel Entrance. Chances are many of you have driven by the terminal and would recognize the vast parking lots full of new automobiles to the left of the Harbor Tunnel.
The scope of this project involved the construction of approx. 5,600 feet of new railway providing access to the Masonville Berth 3 and a new rail yard. The project involved the grading, paving, fencing, drainage and storm water management at an adjacent Slip Area. The project also included the excavation; repair and resurfacing of an area around a sink hole where two barges were buried in the 1960s.
