Project Description

The First High Reservoir Improvements was completed in just 465 days for the Corps of Engineers in residential NW Washington, DC. The purpose of the project was to replace the deteriorated top of an underground concrete 10,000,000 gallon finished water reservoir. Due to very low weight limits of the existing structure, specialized excavation equipment was brought in to uncover the reservoir. Over 20,000 lf of cracks were repaired along with new expansion joints. The reservoir received a new cast in place 5,000 psi concrete top, followed by geotextile, drainage board, and waterproofing. The entire site was restored with sod and a new wrought iron fence. A new chemical building was completed to serve the reservoir.
