Project Superintendent
 – Baltimore, MD

The Project Superintendent supervises all field activities including those of subcontractors.  Depending upon the type and scope of work, the lead superintendent is either from the Civil or Mechanical group.  Large projects may require Superintendents from both areas. Depending upon the size of the project, the Project Superintendent may be assisted by the Assistant superintendent, various craft Foremen, and Field Engineers.  The Superintendent will be located on the job site.

  • Take responsibility for supervising and coordinating all field employees under his/her supervision.
  • Determine the sequence and manner in which work will be carried out, consistent with the Project Manager’s directives and established schedules. 
  • Maintain performance at a level consistent with established schedules.
  • Ensure that all work, whether performed by the Company forces or by subcontractors, meets the highest standards of quality workmanship.
  • Receive and properly store all materials and equipment which are delivered to the job site.
  • Maintain assigned equipment in good working order and conduct such field repairs as may be necessary.  Coordinate major repairs with the Company’s Equipment Manager.
  • Schedule equipment so as to achieve maximum utilization and to minimize the need for rentals.
  • Ensure that all on-site activities are carried out in strict accordance with the Company’s Loss Control Program and all applicable OSHA safety regulations. 
  • Cooperate with the General Superintendents and the Equipment Manager in transferring material, equipment and personnel among projects.
  • Maintain orderly work areas that are secure from unlawful intrusions and protect the public.
  • Maintain as-built drawings.
  • Update weekly labor reports.
  • Perform the task of “Daily Reports” on a daily basis.
  • Maintain Quality Control at all times.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years field experience as worker and/or Assistant Superintendent.



  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Understanding of Labor/Cost reports
  • Ability to manage one or multiple projects
  • Strong diplomatic communication skills
  • Ability to interpret contracts
  • Knowledge of all Federal/Local laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Q.C. and Safety standards
  • Ability to perform schedule maintenance
  • Ability to maintain As-Built Drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints



  • Coordinate with the General Superintendent for field employees and small tools.
  • Coordinate with the Equipment Manager for rentals and in-house equipment.
